FLOPs Conversion Transparency
This is how your contribution is converted into FLOPs. No black boxes. Only verifiable math.
Live Rate Breakdown
Your contribution is benchmarked against a blended rate from a basket of leading GPUs. Our backend scrapes live prices to determine the FLOPs-per-dollar for each, ensuring you get a fair, up-to-date value for your stake.
Example Calculation
Using the live rates, let's see what happens if you contribute $100 USD:
Note: The 'pFLOPS' unit represents PetaFLOPs (1015 FLOPs) for readability.
Market Analysis & Our Approach
Why is a more powerful GPU sometimes cheaper per FLOP?
You might notice that a more powerful GPU like the H100 can sometimes offer more FLOPs-per-dollar than a less powerful one. This seems counterintuitive, but it's a direct reflection of real-time market dynamics and the exponential scaling nature of GPUs.
- Supply & Demand: A surplus of a certain GPU at one provider can temporarily drive its rental price down, making it more cost-effective.
- Provider-Specific Pricing: Our scraper finds the cheapest available rate across over 20 providers. A promotional price from one provider can create temporary price advantages.
- Hardware Tiers: Enterprise-grade hardware (like the H100) and consumer-grade hardware (like the RTX 4090) operate in different markets with different pricing pressures.
Our blended-rate approach is designed to smooth out this volatility. By averaging the cost-effectiveness of a basket of leading GPUs, we create a stable and fair "market index" for computation, ensuring you always receive a fair value for your investment that isn't subject to the wild price swings of a single GPU model.
